The 2016 Blueberry project is a blend of sour wheat and blond ales that were aged in white wine barrels for up to 12 months with more than 8,000 pounds of fresh blueberries. The 2016 growing season delivered fruit with elegant blueberry aromatics, providing clean fruit expression to this blend, complemented by the dry, cereal grain notes of the beer with hints of lemon, violets, a soft oak presence and lively acidity. 8.5% ABV

BOURBONIC PLAGUE 2016 - Anniversary edition $28

This beer was made to celebrate Cascade Brewing’s 20th anniversary. A blend of sour imperial porters aged in bourbon and wine barrels for up to two years with dates, cinnamon, vanilla and orange peel, this limited blend marks 20 extraordinary years of brewing, blending and sharing beer. Only 283 cases produced, and only available at the Barrel House and the Lodge.

This NW style sour ale is a blend of red ales aged for up to two years in oak barrels on elderberries and spices. Aromas of sharp, dark port, raisins, black currants and hints of red peppercorns are the first to be noticed. Tart, dark fruit, blackberries, currants, tobacco and hints of leather on the palate lead to a slightly drying finish of sweet elderberries, dark grapes, aged port and leather. 8.2% ABV

This Limited Release of Framblanc is a blend of sour blond ales aged for up to 14 months in oak wine barrels with more than 3,500 pounds of white raspberries. Fresh flavors of raspberries, green grapes, white peaches and pears earned Framblanc the gold medal at the 2017 Oregon Beer Awards. 7.6% ABV

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER 2016 $20

Last spring, the crew from Bruery Terreux came up to discuss the blend and to brew the first batch of what was to become One Way Or Another. The following week, Bruery Terreux replicated the same recipe in their brewery. One Way Or Another is a blend of sour triple ales aged in oak wine barrels for up to 16 months with regional ingredients: Oregon marionberries and California Meyer lemons. With each brewery crafting their own blend, this limited offering illustrates how a single recipe can be interpreted one way or another. 7.9% ABV

Celebrating Portland’s reputation as the “City of Roses,” Rose City Sour captures the delicate floral aromas of fresh roses matched with notes of dried cranberries, pomegranates and a hint of white pepper. 7% ABV

Sang du Chene, meaning blood of the oak, showcases sour strong blond and triple ales aged in three large format oak casks: foudres, puncheons and hogsheads. Oak influences are the highlight of the Sang du Chene, providing flavors of toasted sugars, vanilla and spice complemented by the bright acidity and fruity character of the beer. 9.6% ABV

Sang Rouge is a blend of sour red ales aged in select red wine barrels and oak puncheons for up to 24 months. Highlighting the depth and complexity of our base red ale without the influence of additional fruits or spices, Sang Rouge serves as the foundation of our “Sang” series. This rare project features notes of roasted malts, dried currants, aged red wine and toasted oak. 7.8% ABV

Sang Royal is a blend of double red ales aged in oak barrels, foudres and puncheons for up to 22 months with Pinot Noir grapes from Oregon’s famed Willamette Valley wine region. The most sophisticated in Cascade’s series of “Sang” projects, Sang Royal captures complex notes of summer berry fruit, plum, cola, earth and spice, with a vibrant acidity and soft tannic structure 9.4% ABV

VINTAGE 2013 STRAWBERRY $28

This NW style sour ale is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer barrel aged for 12 months, then aged on strawberries and vanilla for three more. Bright, sweet strawberries and rich jam notes are noticed up front. A bright tartness and berry sweetness intermingle on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling fresh berry tartness with hints of vanilla cream in the finish.

This Northwest sour ale is a blend of blond ales that were aged in oak wine barrels for up to 14 months with more than 13,000 pounds of fresh apricots from the Pacific Northwest. A flagship project in Cascade Brewing’s sour beer portfolio, Apricot offers flavors of fresh and dried apricot fruit complimented by a tart acidity and lingering notes of apricot preserves. 7.3% ABV

BEAN TO BARREL $12

A collaboration project made with Mikkeller, Bean-to-Barrel Triple features a blend of barrel and foudre aged sour triple ales with toasted Oregon and French oak and a late infusion of cocoa nibs sourced from Bean Geeks Craft Chocolate in Copenhagen. Celebrating Bean Geeks’ “bean-to-bar” chocolate-making methods, Bean-to-Barrel Triple offers aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla and toasted oak sugars combined with the light pear and citrus fruit notes of the sour triple. 9.4% ABV

BRUNCH LINE 2017 $12

Brunch lines are as much an institution as brunch itself in Portland, so we made a beer dedicated to the rain-soaked hordes of brunch-goers who patiently stand in line for their weekend fare. Inspired by the mimosa cocktail, Brunch Line features sour wheat and blond ales aged in white wine barrels for up to two years with Willamette Valley-grown Chardonnay grapes, then infused with fresh orange zest. 9.6% ABV

CUVÉE DU JONGLEUR $12

Originally released in 2008, Cuvée du Jongleur, or “Blend of the Juggler,” consists of select red, triple and quad sour ales aged in oak barrels for up to three years. Making its first appearance in over a decade, the 2017 project pays homage to the original blend, juggling a variety of base beers that offer clean and complex flavors through the lactic fermentation process that has come to define our Northwest Sour Ales. 9.4% ABV

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER 2017 $12

: Based on a collaboration recipe originally designed with our friends at Bruery Terreux®, the 2017 One Way Or Another combines whole, Northwest-grown marionberries and Meyer lemon zest with sour blond ale aged in oak barrels for up to 16 months. The finished blend captures notes of blackberry pastry, fresh citrus and spruce tips with a lively acidity and dry finish. 7.7% ABV

PRIMORDIAL NOIR 2017 $14

Primordial Noir is a blend of imperial red ales aged in bourbon and wine barrels for up to two years with Northwest-grown Bing cherries and spices. A concentrated precursor to our Sang Noir project, Primordial Noir features a more robust bourbon and cherry presence with notes of roast malt, molasses and baking spices. 10.5% ABV

ROSE CITY SOUR 2017 $12

Celebrating Portland’s reputation as the City of Roses, we are pleased to offer Rose City Sour, a blend of wheat and blond ales aged in oak wine barrels for up to 14 months with rose petals, rose hips and hibiscus flowers. Rose City Sour captures the delicate floral aromas of fresh roses matched with notes of dried cranberries, pomegranates and a hint of white pepper. 8% ABV

TROPICAL EMBERS $12

A blend made in partnership with our friends at Beachwood Blendery, Tropical Embers features sour wheat ale brewed with smoked malt—a tribute to Beachwood’s reputation for renowned BBQ—then aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months with additions of whole pineapple and mango. This limited collaboration project offers a unique combination of wood smoke aroma and tropical fruit flavor. 7.3% ABV

VALLEY FLORA 2017 $14

Celebrating Northwest regional offerings of craft beer and wine, Valley Flora combines our sour red ale with Willamette Valley-grown Pinot Noir grapes using traditional brewing and winemaking techniques. Through native fruit fermentation and extended oak maturation, Valley Flora expresses notes of dark bramble fruit, plum, cherry, earth and oak supported by a balanced tannic structure and lively acidity. 10% ABV
